Student Voices of Africa (SVA) is a youth-led, non-profit, and non-partisan movement established to empower students across Africa by promoting communication, leadership, advocacy, innovation, and active participation in solving challenges affecting students.
The Vision & Founding
The vision for SVA was first developed in 2024 by Atugonza Rodgers while he was a science student at St. Julian High School, Gayaza. He observed that many students remained silent about challenges affecting their education, health, mental well-being, finances, careers, and personal lives because of fear, stigma, discrimination, or the lack of safe platforms.
On 27 May 2026, while studying at Avance International University, College of Health Sciences, Atugonza Rodgers officially founded Student Voices of Africa (SVA) to establish a continental platform where every African student is heard, respected, empowered, and inspired to create positive change.

Overall Leadership & Representation
Provides overall strategic leadership, chairs executive meetings, represents members across Africa, and oversees implementation of all organizational programs.
Vice President
Internal Operations & Coordination
Supports the President, coordinates internal operations, supervises active committees, and acts on behalf of the President when necessary.
Organizing Secretary
Programs, Outreaches & Mobilization
Plans and coordinates organizational activities, campus events, mental health campaigns, school outreach programs, and student membership mobilization.
General Secretary
Records, Documentation & Administration
Manages official records, organizational correspondence, meeting minutes, official documentation, and administrative affairs of SVA across chapters.
Finance Secretary
Financial Planning & Accountability
Oversees financial planning, budgeting, strict accountability, fundraising support, and transparent financial reporting.
Publicity & Communications Secretary
Media, Branding & Digital Advocacy
Leads branding, media relations, public awareness campaigns, digital communications, student advocacy, and promotion of SVA's mission across Africa.
